The night before SOTH's 8th Annual Wine and Cheese Fundraiser heavy rain, hail, and multiple spectacular lightning strikes sparked over 100 fires around the mountain communities. The next morning dawned with even more lightning, rain, and thunder - but only on the west side of Interstate 5. The east side - the location of the vineyard set up for the event - was dry! And so it turned out to be another wonderful afternoon of fun and entertainment.

Dozens of hungry people munched happily on cheeses paired with crunchy crackers, bread and fresh fruit while sampling a variety of lovely wines. Event coordinators Sue Alberti, Michelle Maga, Lianne Snyder, Michi Knight, and Debbie McNeeley, Alice Crandall, Pam Wheeler, and Candace Huskey and auctioneer Knute Johnson put together a truly outstanding event.

Featured cheeses were Danish Havarti, Chevre, Welsh Cheddar, Norwegian Swiss and a positively dreamy French Brie. A variety of wines were served from J & J Cellars, Vista del Rey Vineyards, Leucadia, Bianchi Winery and an especially delightful red served cold (!) from Chien Tachete.

Music matching the lighthearted mood of the afternoon activities was provided by the very talented singer and guitarist Cary Park.
