Spay and neuter vouchers are available to any resident of the mountain communities. All voucher requests are handled by mail. Voucher applications are available in Frazier Park at Tecuya Feed and the Shelter Thrift Store, in Lebec at Mountain Aire Veterinary Clinic or you can print out this application. When applying for a voucher, proof of residency will be required to make sure vouchers are used by residents of the local community.

Vouchers will be mailed to applicants the first week of every month. When a voucher is issued, the recipient will make an appointment for a spay/neuter surgery with the participating veterinarian of his or her choice. The voucher, which will cover $25 of the spay/neuter costs, must be presented to the veterinarian at the time of surgery. The veterinarian will then bill SOTH for the value of the voucher. SOTH cannot reimburse pet owners directly.

All vouchers must be used within 60 days from issue date. Lost, stolen or vouchers not used in 60 days will not be replaced. For more information on the spay/neuter voucher program, please call 245-5021.

Deciding to spay or neuter your pet is probably the single most important thing you can do to protect his/her health and wellbeing. The cost of the surgery varies according to species (cat or dog) and gender (male or female) and each facility's fee schedule. We cannot recommend any one specific veterinary office but it might be helpful for you to know the facilities below have accepted our spay/neuter vouchers as partial payment in the past.
